In this article, we wanted to share a few of our favourite essential oils as well as an essential oil blend that will help to treat everything from a blocked nose to inflamed skin as a result of allergies and dry air, so keep reading to learn more!

Relieve Sinus Pressure With Eucalyptus

You know that tight feeling of pressure in your head when you’re having a sinus flareup? Eucalyptus is our absolute favourite essential oil for helping to relieve pain and pressure associated with sinuses.

You can add a few drops to a diffuser, but to really get the most out of this powerful oil, we recommend filling a large bowl with hot water, adding in a few drops of the oil and inhaling the steam directly for instant relief. Always be careful with hot water to avoid burning yourself,  and you do this up to 6 times a day if you’re really having a hard time.

Open Your Airways With Peppermint

We love the refreshing, zingy scent of mint, but did you know that this oil is good for more than just waking you up first thing in the morning? Peppermint is excellent for opening up your airways and reducing mucus buildup. One of our favourite tips is to add a few drops to the floor of your shower and then allow the refreshing steam to fill the air! This provides relief from congestion and is especially helpful right before bed.

Calm Inflammation With Lavender

Lavender is a wonderful soothing oil that is excellent for reducing inflammation. Add a few drops to a diffuser and allow its aromatherapy benefits to work its magic, or add a few drops to a carrier oil like coconut oil and apply to any areas of inflamed, dry or irritated skin.

An Uplifting DIY Blend for Seasonal Allergies

Combine the refreshing benefits of peppermint with the soothing properties of lavender and add a dash of citrus in there to uplift. This is a blend that will relieve allergies while putting a spring in your step (see what we did there?)!

Add to a diffuser and diffuse this soothing mist in your home or add to a bottle of diluted water and spritz the air all around you. Now go and enjoy your spring!
